It's been a while

Long time since I last posted anything. Right now I am currently writing two books. One is a children's book and the other is a graphic novel, two totally different audiences I know. Anyway here are some random pieces.
The first is a portrait of a model at the AAU, Max. The second is a cover for "All quiet on the Western Front"

The Owl and the Pussy Cat

Ahh yes so this is the final project I did for my Illustration 3 class. No of course I didn't write the story but just about everything else was done by me(with considerable help from just about everyone in class on the flash animation). And yes that is me singing as the owl and cat (I would have done the guitar too but I really didn't want to learn this song).
Anyway move you mouse over things and see what happens. Enjoy.

seascape background

With finals coming up I'm going to have a ton of  random stuff to put up here. This week is kinda a preview of what's to come. This is the the background to something I will be doing in Flash. What that is, well you'll just have to wait.

These images were done for Crystal Kang (an advertising student at the Academy of Art). She had a project where she needed to meet with an illustrator, so I tried to capture what she wanted. When discussing the whole deer massaging thing I felt maybe a nice soft cuddly bear would be better but she still wanted the deer. We were under a short deadline but I wish I could have made that one more effective and not so...odd. Kinda came off looking like a human sacrifice.  Anyway, for having to do these illustrations over a weekend (one a day; Fri, Sat, Sun) I guess they came out okay. The night scene is my favorite just because I love shadows, well and foxes. But yes all the concepts/style were Crystal's. They were all done in watercolor.

First post

Hey everyone.
This is my first post here, and hopefully I'll be able to put something up every week or so.
I'm currently finishing up my last few semesters at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
Recently a class assignment was to create a poster for the Haight Ashbury Street Fair, and mine is now in the top 10 finalists. Here is the final (in color) and the rough.

Personally I liked the direction of the rough and just the overall style and where it could have gone...but the project had to be done in Adobe Illustrator. Oh well, shouldn't complain.

You can see all 10 pieces at http://www.haightashburystreetfair.org/drupal_hasf/ . To vote on any piece you can go to the RVCA at Haight/Ashbury 1485 Haight Street and vote on your favorite there. All the posters are on display in their front window as well.
